Counsellor- EU Delegation to Turkey, Head of Economic and Social Development,

François Bégeot received his bachelor degree from Sciences Po Strasbourg (France), started his mater on sociology at Université March Bloch (Strasbourg, France) and completed his post graduate on demography at Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) between 1984 and 1988. He started his professional career in private sector by working as regional director at AZ Promotion Sales and Marketing between the years of 1988 and 1996. Later, he joined EUROSTAT as demographer in 1988, when is the time his European Commission experience started. He served in following positions in the EC: Country Coordinator for Albania in Directorate General for External Relations between 1996 and 2001; Member of the EU Negotiation Team for Bulgaria in Directorate General for Enlargement in 2001- 2005; Policy Officer for the Western Balkans and Turkey in Directorate General for Transport between 2005 and 2010; and Head of Operation Section for Economic Reform and Infrastructure in EU Delegation to Albania between 2010 – 2014.  He was appointed as Head of Economic and Social Development Section in EU Delegation to Turkey in 2014. He speaks fluent English as well as some Albanian and Bulgarian.
